Double-Twisted Hexagonal Wire Mesh Hot-Dip Wire Galvanized Gabion Boxes
GABIONS (Higher than 1m in height) and MATTRESSES (Less than 1m in height) consist of rectangular units, fabricated from a double-twisted hexagonal mesh.
Filled with stones, gabions become large, flexible and permeable elements from which a broad range of structures may be built. Gabions and mattresses are widely used for hydraulic and geo- technical control such as retaining walls, riverbank protections, weirs, channel linings etc.
Steel wire used in the manufacture is hot-dip galvanizing or galfan(zinc 95%, aluminum 5%). If it is required, 0.5 mm thick PVC is then coated on the galvanized/galfan wire to provide added protection for use in aggressive environments with acidic soils and water, in salt or fresh water or wherever the risk of corrosion is present. In order to reinforce the structure, the edge wire has a greater diameter than the mesh wire. The gabion box is divided into units by means of diaphragms positioned at approximately 1m centres.
Applications:
1.It is very economical. You just need to put stone in the mesh and then seal it .
2.It is flexible, corrosion resistance and can stand up with extreme weather.
3.Simple construction, requiring no special technique.
4.The silt between the wire mesh and stone contributes to plant growth, making the gabion wire mesh harmonious with the surrounding natural environment .
5.The gabion wire mesh is folded and can be assembled site, which saves transportation cost.
